Why Holy Spirit Catholic School?
Our motto is Where every child is known and honored. We continuously strive to help develop each individual’s gifts while providing a well-rounded preschool through 8th grade education that is grounded in our Catholic Tradition. We believe that building the foundation builds confidence, and in turn, builds leaders.
Feel Welcome From Day One
-
Teachers play a key role in supporting the social-emotional health of all students. Utilizing morning meetings, group gatherings, and other strategies, teachers build relationships with students so that our tagline of “every student is known and honored” is lived out.
-
By fostering a community that emphasizes belonging and inclusion, students are able to create a network of lifelong friendships.
-
Holy Spirit Catholic School has a no cell phone policy during the school day. This enables students to focus on their education and relationships with teachers and peers without distractions.
Thrive in Our Classrooms
-
The average tenure of our teachers and staff is 13 years!
-
In addition to the support our teachers offer to every student, each student has the opportunity to work with our consulting psychologist. She meets regularly with teachers to design classroom strategies to meet the unique needs of our students and is invaluable in helping parents understand the needs of their child; providing testing services; and helping teachers and parents develop plans.
-
We are a proud Believe and Read school! Generously funded by the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence and presented in partnership with Groves Learning Organization, Believe and Read is a best-in-class literacy program that transforms reading instruction. Believe and Read helps launch ALL students to the next level, supporting struggling readers and high fliers.
Grow in Faith
-
Prayer is an important element throughout our school day. Through prayer, we strive to raise the conscious awareness among our students of God’s presence within themselves, each other, and the entire school community.
We come together as a community to pray each morning during announcements, before lunch, and at the end of each school day.
-
Holy Spirit students have the opportunity to receive the Eucharist on a regular basis at weekly school Masses. Students also have the opportunity to go to confession during Advent and Lent.
-
Holy Spirit students prepare for First Reconciliation and First Communion in second grade.
Preparation for Confirmation takes place in eighth grade. Confirmation meetings invite candidates to prepare for the sacrament through study, prayer, service, witness, and commitment. Candidates participate in liturgies, meetings, and retreats.
