Holy Spirit knows and honors each child’s individuality. We not only aspire to provide our students with a superb education but also to help them grow in spirit and embrace virtues and values that will stay with them through life.
In partnership with Groves Academy, Holy Spirit offers a phonics, research-based literacy program for all of our students in kindergarten through grade two. Our teachers, having gone through extensive training, provide our youngest students the opportunity to become proficient readers, giving them a strong foundation, so they are ready
to “read to learn” by third grade. All students, even those with high risk, have seen tremendous growth and success through our Literacy Program.
Holy Spirt has led the way in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. In 2018, Holy Spirit was the only
Catholic school in the Archdiocese to participate in this program. The extraordinary success we have seen has inspired this program to grow. It is currently in place in 20 other Archdiocesan Catholic schools with that number set to increase for the 2021-2022 school year.
The primary grade curriculum centers around the areas of religion, literacy, language arts, and mathematics. In addition, students experience science, social studies, music, physical education, and library classes.
Beyond the academics, Holy Spirit strives to create a true sense of community, forming partnerships and friendships in the classroom, across grade levels, and extending into the community.
